f. 15v., Tecuantepec

This is a scene (folio 15 verso) showing a place called Tecuantepec (”Beast-Hill”). This is represented by a wild animal (an ocelotl, i.e. jaguar, perhaps) standing on what appears to be a rocky hill or mountain. The gloss adds that this is a place where the land is planted in metl (or magueyes in Spanish, agave plants in English). The pictorial rendering of “Tecuantepec” is glyph-like writing, something found in some Techialoyan manuscripts.
