f. 16r., Ahuecuauhtlan, Tototlan

This scene at Ahuecuauhtlan and Tototlan (on folio 16 recto) shows a circular, blue body of water with four black waterfowl swimming. Three trees, all of the same type, grow behind the pond or lake. The trees are all coming out of green grass, with their roots showing, their trunks painted green, and their foliage stippled with black ink, also washed with the same green paint. Given the toponym, these may be meant to be avocado trees. The foreground is painted brown, roughly the color of soil. The text explains that Ahuacuauhtlan (at the back) is the property of San Bartolome. The foreground is said to show Tototlan, property of Mimiahuapan, measuring 100 cords.
