This portion of text refers to the lands upon which tributes are raised, cultivated by the inhabitants of the neighborhoods (tlaxilacalli). Everything here will be ordered and remain permanently in the register. The inhabitants of the town will always be guided by this book, which no one shall every damage or violate. Rather the inhabitants of the town will always observe the book as a benefit for the town that is under the patronage of our venerable father St. Michael. Here a man (the town founder?) speaks in the first person, stating that he is from Tenochtitlan (Mexico City). This multiple page text all appears to be in the same hand, and the ink is a brown color. [SW]
