f. 1r., page of text
This is a page of text with no apparent images, the front side (1 recto) of the first folio of twenty-three folios.
The text on this page is written directly on fig bark paper. The text here appears to say that this is the “altepeamatl” (town documents) of San Miguel Mimiapan and something about “tlatquitl” (property) and pertaining to the “altepehuaque” (townspeople). Perhaps five small x’s appear below the text at mid-page.
Altepeamatl is a term primarily used in Techialoyan manuscripts and possibly coined for use with this meaning, as a substitute for the Spanish term “títulos” (titles). [SW]
