f. 23v., indigenous man standing
This is an indigenous man standing. Of the two men on this page, he is the figure on the left. Although the paint is quite worn, we can nevertheless see that he is dressed in a pre-Hispanic style, wearing a hide wrap around his waist, going to his knees. He is shirtless. He has a quiver on his back. His skin is a light brown or pinkish tone, and shading gives his body three dimensionality. His black hair reaches his shoulders. He may have a feather coming up off the top of his head. Between his eyes and his eyebrows, we see an extra line, possibly a fold in the skin. [SW]
