This is the text that refers to there being 1,200 cords of land here at Atlan, the property of the people of San Bartolomé. The boundary is said to stretch out in both directions. Interestingly, we see three circles here, and apparently each one symbolizes one “tzontli,” given that the number of cords here is 3 x 400 (yei, three, tzontli, units of four hundred, in Nahuatl). Here we see the original ink and handwriting that comprises the majority of pages of this manuscript. [SW]
