This text names the sons and daughters of the newly appointed, local, indigenous lord. The men are called “don” and the women “doña,” indicative of their elite status. The orthography of these names is typical of the Techialoyan genre, with “t” where “d” should appear, giving the impression that the titles were Nahuatl instead of Spanish, perhaps. The letter “s” is also avoided and replaced with “x” (e.g. in Agustina or Andrés), possibly for the same reason. This hand differs from the principal hand that appears across the manuscript. The writing is smaller. The use of c cedilla is also more notable. The original, brown ink, has been retraced with a darker brown at some point. [SW]
