This brief texts refers to the town founders (with a root of mana, to establish), also called “our grandfathers,” and the pre-Hispanic date 1 Flint (”Ce Tecpatl”), followed by two circles. Do these circles represent the 200 cords mentioned elsewhere on this page (revealing a decimal influence rather than the usual two tzontli)? The ink here is a brownish color, the same as the principal text of the manuscript, and the handwriting is the same, all of which would suggest that it was made by the same person at the same time.
