f. 10v., Ocoyacac altepetl
This scene shows the interior or center of the altepetl of Ocoyacac, at the site of the Hueycalco Tlatzontecoyan (the big building, the courthouse), according to the text. We see two two-story buildings. In each case the top floor is a smaller cube. All four floors have an opening with a lintel above the door or window, painted a golden brown. Shading is uses to show the doors are ajar. A man sits in the foreground. Three circle appear on the ground in the lower right corner of the scene, which may intend to count something, such as the amount of land taken up by the heart of the town. [SW]
