This is folio 5 recto, showing a couple standing, with the woman on our left and the man on our right, wearing only white fabric skirts or wraps that run from waist to knees. This is the dress usually associated in this genre with semi-sedentary people. Accordingly, the man has a quiver of arrows on his back and holds something, possibly a weapon in his left hand. The woman holds an arrow in her left hand. Less fitting is the way the woman wears her hair, in the fashion of a sedentary Nahua woman, with the two protrusions of hair above her forehead. The man has what appears to be a mustache and a beard. He has shoulder-length hair and possibly a feather atop his head. Their skin is painted brown. They are both barefooted. [SW]
