This text in Nahuatl refers to the people’s children, the citizens of the altepetl ,and the patron saint San Martín. It states how the lands are to be maintained and no one should contradict this possession. The people’s children, the citizens of the altepetl are to provide tribute labor. It mentions the land again and the local palace being given by “our lord the king” (”ley” for “rey”). It states that “thus, our staffs of office [topilli] were given to is today,” and “we, all of us here,” went to serve and provide tributes. [SW]
