This is a detail of two agave plants, perhaps magueyes. They are outlined in black ink and washed with a green watercolor. The plant on the right is taller. The spines are clearly visible. Since this place is called Memetlan, the magueyes here may be symbolic of the name of the place. Alternatively, the use of memetlan may simply be informing us that this is a place full of magueyes, and it might not be a toponym or placename.

Ya que este lugar es llamado Memetian, los magueyes aquí pueden ser simbólicos del nombre del lugar. Como otra alternativa el uso del memetian puede estar informandonos solamente que este es un lugar lleno de magueyes, y puede no ser un topónimo o un nombre propio.
