This page, which is the front face of the eleventh folio of sixteen folios (also Book VI, folio 1 recto), is typical of the image-heavy pages that feature landscapes included in these territorial claims of Santa María Iztacapan (modern State of Hidalgo, Mexico) late in the Spanish colonial period.
This scene shows a hill or mountain with the head of a lion at the top, along with a tree or tall bush and a cactus pear plant. The text appears within the hill. All features are outlined in black. The vegetation is washed with a blue-green watercolor. The lion’s head is a yellowish brown. The hill is painted light brown. [SW]

Esta página, la carátula del undécimo de dieciséis folios (también Libro VI, folio 1 recto), es la típica página cargada de imágenes que presenta paisajes incluídos en los reclamos territoriales de Santa María de Iztacapan (estado moderno de Hidalgo, México) del período colonial tardío.
La escena muestra colina o montaña con la cabeza de un león en la cima, como así también un árbol o arbusto grande y un candelabro (planta de la familia de las cactáceas, cuos frutos se llaman tunas) a la derecha. El texto aparece entre la colina. Todas las formas están delineadas en negro. La vegetación está pintada con acuarelas azul-verde. La cabeza del león es amarillenta. La colina está pintada de café suave.
