four trees
This is a detail of four trees, three tall and slender, and one shorter and broader appearing in Book VII, folio 4 recto. All our outlined in black ink and washed with a green watercolor. The foliage consists of simple, straight lines or hash marks of pen ink, not oval shaped leaves. The branches are not well delineated, although the tree on the right has two or three clumps of vegetation. All four trees have roots showing above ground. [SW]

Detalle de cuatro árboles, tres altos y delgados, y uno corto y ancho. Todos están delineados en tinta negra y coloreados con azuarelas verdes. El follaje consiste de simples lineas negras, no de hojas ovaladas. Las ramas no están bien delineadas, aunque el árbol de la derecha tiene tres o cuatro copas con vegetación. Los cuatro árboles tienen las raíces por encima de la tierra.
