This page is back side of the third folio of sixteen folios (also Book IV, 3 verso). A full page of text, no images, this text refers to don Antonio de Mendoza, the viceroy of New Spain (colonial Mexico) from 1535 to 1550, who is said here to have come from Castile. The text also tells how the town founders [of Santa María Iztacapan, modern State of Hidalgo, Mexico] won recognition of the community’s territory, and how the boundaries of this territory will be shown on this “town paper.” [SW]

Está integramente compuesta de texto, sin imágenes, y hace referencia a don Antonio de Mendoza, el virrey de Nueva España (México colonial) desde 1535 a 1550, quien habría venido de Castilla. El texto también menciona como los fundadores [de Santa María Iztacapan, estado moderno de Hidalgo, México] consiguieron el reconocimiento de los territorios de la comunidad, y cómo los linderos de éste territorio serán mostrados en este documento.

[IV, f. 3v.] Our great ruler don Antonio de Mendoza came from Castile .............. They won land for people, land that belongs to our altepetl. It appears, it appears [how] the boundaries run, so that all .... on it, this altepetl paper, for this reason
