This is a detail of a foot in a sandal appearing in Book VII, folio 1 verso. The sandal has a sole (barely visible), a strap across the top of the foot just above the toes and another one higher than that. A “t” strap connects the two straps crossing over the foot. An additional strap appears to wrap around the ankle. [SW]
