This is a detail, appearing in Book VII, folio 1 verso, of the head of an indigenous woman or man, unnamed. She is outlined in black ink, her shoulder-length hair is painted black. We can see most of her face, including two eyebrows, two eyes, a nose, and a mouth. Her skin is painted with a faded flesh-tone watercolor. [SW]
