This is a detail, appearing in Book V, folio 4 recto, of the head of an indigenous man, probably don Bartolomé Chimalpopocatzin. He is outlined in black ink, his shoulder-length hair is painted black. We can see most of his face, including two eyebrows, two eyes, a nose, a mouth, a mustache, and a goatee. His skin is painted with a faded flesh-tone watercolor. [SW]
