Malinche Mountain is the backdrop for this scene. A natural spring apparently descends the mountain, reminiscent of a slithering snake and extending in two directions. One end of the river connects to the weaving woman's chest. Is she supposed to be Malintzin/Malinche? She is obviously a native woman, judging by her dress, hair, and backstrap loom.
