This is a nearly full page of text, folio 6 recto, with no images. This is a “signature” page. The text is written on European paper that has been glued onto fig bark paper. The text is a statement that the town boundaries are to be guarded and this document is to be kept. A date is given with a long string of day and year signs, followed by an attempt to give the European calendar year 1542 in Nahuatl long count, but the method is unorthodox. The writer names himself as don Marcos de Santiago. One of the town council officers (alcaldes) is don Pedro de San Miguel.

Esta es una página casi llena de texto, folio 6 recto, sin imagines. Esta es una página de “firma.” El texto ha sido escrito en papel Europeo, que ha sido pegado en papel de amate. El texto es una declaración de que los bordes del pueblo deben ser vigilados y este documento debe ser conservado. Una fecha es dada, con una lista larga con señales de día y año, seguidas por intento de dar el año 1542 del calendario Europeo, en una cuenta larga en Nahuatl, pero el metodo es un poco ortodoxo. El escritor se nombra como el don Marcos de Santiago. Uno de los alcaldes del pueblo es don Pedro de San Miguel.

En este...el pedazo de escritura será visto donde estaremos llegando a nuestro linderos de nuestro altepetl. Y de modo qué sera verificado y reforzado, lo escribimos. Hoy nuestros años estan atados, el tiempo es contado: el lagarto, el viento, la casa,el cocodrilo, la serpiente, la muerte, el venado, el conejo, la caña, el perro, el mono,...(ocelote), el águila, el buitre, el movimiento, la piedra, el palo, la flor, como esta todo se cuenta como una gran cuenta más 300 y 200 y cuarenta y dos años. ...don Pedro de San Miguel, alcalde don Tomás de A[uino]...........Martín................gobernador I........I write it, don Marcos de Santiago don ............. regidor mayor don Martín[?]..........................

[f. 6r.] for this reason [our?] altepetl will be helped. The things of the municipal palace and courthouse are to be guarded eternally.
