This detail shows a boundary marker with a cross on top. It also refers to some 275 (changed to 375?) varas that were being contested “in the year ‘86.” This remark suggest that the map is later. If it were 1687, the text would read “last year.” So it may be even later than 1687. But the measurements (in 500-vara segments, for the most part) suggest that they were made in 1686, even if the map is recording them after the fact. The setment was changed to 600 varas in 1687. [SW]
