This item (”O”) on the key points to a private property called a “labor,” this one being the “Labor Nueva” of don Alonzo Brioso. The minimum town base (550 varas measured out in the four cardinal directions from the church) would have to be adjusted for the intrusion of such private properties. It is typical that Spanish colonists and indigenous nobles (caciques) were acquiring private properties that were not necessarily contiguous. [SW]
