the “estancia” named Santa Cruz

This small, secondary settlement (also called a “sujeto” in Spanish terminology) was named Santa Cruz. It also had a Mixtec name, something like Nuhuyu(?). It was four and a half leagues from the “cabecera,” or head town, Teozacualco.
