This was the famous warrior-lord 8 Deer “Jaguar Claw” (1). He was the son of 5 Alligator “Dzavui,” but not of lady 9 Eagle “Cacao Flower.” According to other documents, 8 Deer's mother was lady 11 Water “Precious Parrot,” the other wife of 5 Alligator “Dzavui.” The same error was made in the Codex Bodley (p. 7 and 8). 8 Venado was born in 1063 A.D. and died in 1115 A.D. During his lifetime he was able to bring the Mixteca together under one rule and establish the preeminence of the Tilantongo lineage. After his death this aggregate fell apart in smaller units.

Este era el famoso gobernante-guerrero 8 Venado 'Garra de Tigre' (1). Era el hijo de 5 Lagarto 'Dzavui', pero no de la señora 9 Aguila 'Flor de Cacao'. Según otros documentos, la madre de 8 Venado fue la señora 11 Agua 'Loro Precioso', la otra esposa de 5 Lagarto 'Dzavui'. El mismo error ocurre en el Códice Bodley (p. 7 y 8). 8 Venado nació en 1063 d.C. y murió en 1115 d.C. Durante su vida, logró reunir a la Mixteca bajo un sólo mando y estableció la superioridad del linaje de Tilantongo. Después de su muerte, este agregado se desintegró en unidades más pequeñas.
