Cross atop a structure
Red cross atop a stepped pedestal, built on the summit of a hill. This hill is situated to the south of colonial Teozacualco. It was usual for colonial villages to erect crosses in hills close to the village center, especially in archaeological sites. This seems to have been the case here (Jansen, 1992: 42).
