4, bottom: Ahuatepec
This is a detail, in the bottom scene on the double register with the number 4, showing three trees and considerable brush below them. The text describes this place, possibly named Ahuatepec, as consisting of 800 mecatl of lands belonging to the people of the altepetl (pueblo). Most of the text has been reinforced with a dark black ink, with the exception of some letters in the bottom line. The reinforcement may have introduced errors. There is a dark brown stain in the middle of this scene, a worm hole in the upper left quadrant, and some erosion of the paper around the edges of the scene. [SW]
